Chase Provence, Luberon, France, 2015     Magnum £62.00
William Chase, the owner of Chase Vodka, which won best vodka in the world in 2010, and his team have produced this fabulous rosé after acquiring a 40ha vineyard in Luberon in Provence. This salmon pink rosé boasts aromas of  peach and subtle summer fruits combined with a steely minerality, all held together with a lengthy satisfying finish. “300 days of pure sunshine combined with the cultivation of ancient terroirs, has helped us to create this fresh fruity styled rosé” William Chase.

The climate in the Ardèche, to the west of Rhône, certainly suits Chardonnay. A powerful and complex wine.

We were blow away when we tasted this Chenin ~ elegant full bodied wine with tropical flavours of creamy pineapple, melon and vanilla. The wine has a lovely texture with a long finish with enough acidity to keep it really fresh and vibrant.

Bright intense red fruit on the nose displaying lots of red berries. The palate is warm and full-bodied with harmonious acidity and smooth and elegant tannins.

Marqués de Murrieta Tinto Reserva ~ Rioja   £48.00
Bouquet full of subtle elegant oak and ripe red fruits: red cherry jam, coffee and spices ~ intense, well balanced palate, with a rich expression of ripe fruit, with sweet toasty notes, (coffee and chocolate), and a subtle finish that is long with good tannin and finesse.

Château de Sabazan, Côtes de Saint-Mont ~ SW France      £41.00
This little known area on the French/Spanish interface produces great quality wines at a fraction
of the price of their better known neighbours ~ if you like claret this is really worth a try!

Feudo Antico Montepulciano D’Abruzzo     £35.00
Bright, ruby red wine with aromas of forest fruits, mature cherry and light spices. On the palate it is full-flavoured and pleasantly dry with a hint of liquorice. The soft tannins are well-balanced with the fragrant fruits. It finishes with notes of liquorice.

Châteauneuf du Pape, Domaine Font de Michelle ‘Cuvée Tradition’     £68.50
A superb Châteauneuf ~ this is the principal blend from the Gonnet family’s vineyard ~ the wine from these 45 yo vines exudes the rich flavours of sun baked fruits combined with the herbal notes and scents of the ‘Garrique’.
