PECKS RESTAURANT SCOOPS PRESTIGIOUS NATIONAL AWARD
FOR THE SECOND YEAR RUNNING!
Pecks Restaurant near Congleton, has been awarded the Platinum Restaurant of the Year award at the Hi-Life Diners Club awards, held at the Midland Hotel in Manchester. The event, known as the "restaurant oscars", includes regional awards, Chef or the Year, Most Comfortable Restaurant, and the national category Platinum Restaurant of the Year. The ceremony was hosted by TV presenter Paul Ross, and awards were presented by other celebrities, including Noddy Holder, Terry Christian and Miss Manchester, Nicola McConnell.
Pecks Managing Director, Andy Pear said "We are amazed and delighted to have won this prestigious award for the second year running, the credit goes to the fantastic team at Pecks, who are dedicated to achieving the very best, and never stop pushing the standards even higher."
Pecks Restaurant was established in 1984 and still offers is famous "Dinner at 8" concept, where all diners start a theatre of food at 8pm, and a sample dish of each option on the menu is presented by waiting staff and described, so that diners need never make the wrong selection. The menu is 5 courses on Tuesday and Wednesday, and 7 courses Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Unusually, and despite an extensive wine list, Pecks still invites diners to bring their own wine, on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evening, with no corkage charge.
In recent years, Pecks has opened at lunchtime, offering an impressive a la carte menu, and a daily plat du jour menu representing outstanding value for money. Head Chef and Business Manager, Les Wassall commented on the Hi-Life awards, saying "This is a great reward to a fantastic team effort".
